Sake Haus
Nestled in the heart of downtown Phoenix, Sake Haus brings a refreshing twist to modern Japanese dining. Located at 214 E Roosevelt St, this trendy yet intimate spot is where casual charm meets classy vibes. Whether you're swinging by for a low-key dinner or setting the tone for a romantic night out, the ambiance delivers—think moderate background buzz, dim lighting, and just the right touch of elegance.
Now, let’s talk food—because that’s really why you’re here. The Bad & Buri Roll is a game-changer. It’s got this perfect balance of flavor and texture that hits differently with every bite. The Maki Rolls? They’re rolled to perfection and offer enough variety to satisfy both purists and adventurous sushi fans. But if you're in the mood for something a little unexpected, the Orange Blossom is a bright, citrusy surprise that wakes up your palate in the best way.
Not just a sushi house, Sake Haus goes deeper into the izakaya experience. The Wagyu Fat Pork Gyoza is rich, juicy, and absolutely worth every bite—perfect with a side of Seaweed Salad if you want to keep things balanced. And yes, the sake list is exactly what you’d hope for: thoughtful, curated, and full of hidden gems you’ll want to explore.

Such a good find!! First time here and my whole group enjoyed all that we had. The drinks were tasty, my favorite was the Matcha drink. It was refreshing and well balanced. Both of the rolls were delicious and the Otoro Nigiri was so creamy. Ambiance was awesome, the interior was well decorated. Our waitress Kiki had good recommendations for us and was super sweet.
Great vibe. The service was friendly and very attentive. Most importantly the food and drinks were flavorful, creative and beautifully presented. Highly recommended.
Officially my favorite sushi restaurant in Phoenix. This was flavored so perfectly that I had my head in my hands upset that I spent all my life not trying this food. I will be back. Do not skip the chef specials. I got the orange blossom and the akuma. Those two will bring me back here. The seared scallop is so good Service was knowledgeable and made great recommendations. Ambiance felt like a japanese dive bar in Tokyo. I was transported. I knew when I walked in and smelled the food in the air that I was going to have a good time.
Great spot. It is more of a traditional sushi spot so if you tend to aim for California Rolls/cooked rolls, there is less variety there, but if you looking for a good selection of raw fish sushi and sake then this is a great spot. A group of us showed up for happy hour without a reservation a they were able to accommodate us (I did do a call ahead just in case). Service was great and she had some solid recommendations for rolls and options for my non raw fish eating friends. Overall the sushi was phenomenal and the drinks were great as well. Not a big spot in terms of seating, but they've got great decor and the ambiance is really nice
It was busy so we called in and got on waitlist. Seated quickly at bar and then moved to table. Thank you. We tried a few rolls and loved the Ronin and Bad and Buri and edemame and Midori. Overall good experience
